The Star jasmine vine grows best without moisture stress. Regular irrigation is recommended throughout the year. The chart shown below provides a baseline guide to the monthly irrigation schedule and volume of supplemental water needed to maintain healthy growth throughout the average year. The high and low range of moisture indicates it can grow with varying amounts of water; higher amounts of water in spring will result in stronger flowering performance and better summer foliage character.

Prune to space limitations of what the vine is growing on. Covers fences, arbors, or lattices. Prune as needed throughout the year, but be careful not to prune off too many buds before spring blooming period (D). Also sometimes used as a groundcover in shade. To maintain in this situation, prune as needed to keep off of paths and walks and as needed to control height. However, many better and lower water groundcover choices are available for most garden situations (S).
