The Orange sedge is well named. It is a dramatic clumping perennial with green to shocking orange foliage color, fine texture and a distinctive mounding habit. Mature plants can reach 18 in. high.
This species is native to both the North and South Island of New Zealand and is good for cascading over walls and in containers to help keep its foliage off the ground. The orange color is enhanced when planted in sunny exposures, but avoid hot afternoon sun conditions during summer. It is hardy to cold and does best with regular water throughout the year.
